General Info
Andorra, the border territory between France and Spain has a total area of 468 square kilometers. The highest peak of this small principality is Coma Pedrosa, at 2.942 m, and the lowest one is the border with Catalunya, at 838 m. Because of its situation, right in the middle of the Pyrenees, its steep mountain geography is the typical in high mountain areas. In winter, the most common sport is ski, for this little country of the Pyrenees has, in spite of its reduced area, a total of 282km ski slopes, where other activities such as mountain bike, running, adventure sports, etc. are practised in summer.
VALLNORD, the place that will host the SkyRace, is a ski resort on the north-east of the country, and comprises Pal-Arinsal and Ordino-Arcalís. This winter resort becomes, in summer, a large Mountain Park, where different competitions and activities are carried out, such as bike trial, BTT, karting, quad riding, horse riding, Tyrolean traverse, archery and trekking, among others. This race and a High Mountain Duathlon are the most important activities planned for the third edition of the Mountain Festival VALLNORD. The duathlon will be the second trial of the COMPEX-SALOMON XM Duathlon Series.
